I started off my career as an educator where I fine tuned my ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders who had varying priorities. My creativity and resourcefulness helped me solve ambiguous problems with limited resources. When the pandemic hit I knew my time in the classroom was done, so I made my first pivot into EdTech.
I landed a role on the Product Development team and worked as tier 3 support for 70+ K-12 courses for the largest provider of digital curriculum in the U.S. I tested reported bugs from a technical, curricular, and analytical lens to determine a resolution. As someone who is always looking for ways to learn and grow, I jumped on a freelance Project Management opportunity for a local walking tour company. Through building SOP's and developing tools to improve the guide and customer experience, I learned a lot about project management. I was eager to learn more and grow my skillset, so I planned out my next pivot.
Now I work as a Digital Project Manager in the blockchain space at a marketing studio as the development team's project manager. I collaborate on a wide range of digital projects, in person events, and web3 products. I really enjoy working in a space where there are so many opportunities to learn while working on an innovative product. When I made the decision to leave education I was burnt out and terrified about the idea of changing careers. Since that decision I have pivoted twice and wouldn’t change anything about my decision. If you are an educator who is feeling burnt out and unsure of what to do with your career....make the jump. You can do hard things. You never know what spectacular things will come out of it.
